Light City Christian Academy

"Raising A Generation of Leaders"

Graduates

Light City Christian Academy is a small school located in inner-city New Orleans. Students may begin as early as age five in kindergarten and continue their studies until the completion of High School. We have a·90% success rate of our graduates continuing higher studies in Universities across the state. We are a state approved private school.

The Academy is the realization of the vision of Leonard and Varnise Lucas. At the inception of the Academy, their goal was and continues to be, "to educate children according to the highest academic standards possible, as well as, prepare them to become responsible, courageous leaders."Our motto is, "Raising A Generation of Leaders."

The Academy is a close-knit school embracing a community concept wherein the "whold" child is attended to spiritually, morally and intellectually.

Our Curriculum

Reading and Mathematics are emphasized at the Academy. Beginning in kindergarten, our students experience 180 minutes of differentiated instruction in Reading and Writing. Our curriculum is standards based. All lessons are designed to help students meet and exceed the grade level expectations as determined by the State Department of Education. Our teachers use their professional knowledge and expertise along with the state standards as their guide to differentiate strategies so that all students are successful in their ability to comprehend and communicate what they have learned.

Our Philosophy

LCCA recognizes each child as a unique individual with different learning styles developing at different rates. We also recognize that all children can succeed and reach their God-given potential in a safe, caring environment.

Light City Christian Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national origin in administration of its educational or admission policies.
